At CHR we believe in the humanity of the human being. We believe that in all transactions involving the human being, human dignity must come first. Hence our motto, 'Human Dignity First'. We therefore advocate for the promotion and protection of the fundamental rights of all humankind without distinction as to race, colour, sex, gender, religion, creed or other status.

CHR works in collaboration with the following organisations:
International Bridges to Justice (IBJ) is our funder for the JusticeMakers Project. Over and above funding this innovative project, IBJ has assisted us with photo/video documentary journalists. They facilitated the arrival of two interns from the USA who served as photo/video documentary journalists with CHR for the months of June and July 2009.

Centre for Minority Rights and Development (Cemiride—Zimbabwe)
Cemiride is a like-minded NGO operating from Harare, Zimbabwe. It is run by Zimbabwean IBJ Fellow, Innocent Maja.
Advocates International (Africa Office)
CHR has collaborated with Advocates International (AI) for over two years. Recently, CHR invited AI to four of our community police training workshops. AI assisted with transportation of our personnel to these workshop venues and was represented by its Special Counsel and Africa Programme Coordinator, Mr Bayo Akinlade (Esq). The collaboration with AI is ongoing.
